Hot Topics in Nutrition: 20 Questions from Friends

To kick off my Instagram account @dietitian4women last year, I answered 20 questions. These came from my own friends – a group of women who are smart, motivated, and pretty health-literate.

When you zoom out and look at these questions as a group, they reflect a few of the big themes we currently struggle with in nutrition:

– I’m a busy person in an expensive world, so what do I prioritize?

– What diet/food trends (the ones you see over and over again on Instagram) actually have some merit?

– How do I navigate the explosion of new food & supplement products available to me? (nut milks, sport supplements, vegan burgers, etc.)

Quick and easy answers don’t exist, which is why it can be helpful to work with a dietitian as your guide. Above all, keeping it simple – sticking to whole foods and avoiding anything that seems like a quick fix – is also a safe bet. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
